Liú Chénwēng 劉辰翁 (1232–1297), zì Huìmèng 會孟, hào Xūxī 須溪, was a late-Sòng cí 詞 poet, literary critic, and Daoist sympathiser, native of Lúlíng 廬陵 (Jiāngxī). He earned his jìnshì 進士 in Jǐngdìng 3 (1262) and held a number of regional posts, becoming closely associated with late-Sòng Neo-Confucian circles around Zhōu Liánxī 周濂溪 (Zhōu Dūnyí). After the Mongol victory of 1276 he refused to serve under the Yuán and withdrew from official life. His large literary output — collected as Xūxī xiānshēng quánjí 須溪先生全集 — includes substantial cí 詞 poetry, literary commentary on works including the Tang Songs of the Hall of the Three Hundred, and prefatory writings for many books circulating in late-Sòng-loyalist circles.
His colophon (kānjì 刊記) to Zhào Dàoyī’s [[KR5a0308|Lìshì zhēnxiān tǐdào tōngjiàn 歷世真仙體道通鑑]] (DZ 296), dated jiǎwǔ 1294, is one of his last datable writings; it is paired with a preface by his Lúlíng compatriot 鄧光薦 鄧光薦 (1232–1303). CBD, 5, 3947–8; WDY 3, 1835–6.
