Wú Zìmù 吳自牧 (fl. 1274), late-Southern-Sòng author, native of Qiántáng 錢塘 (Hángzhōu). Otherwise entirely undocumented. Composed the Mèngliáng lù 夢梁錄 (KR2k0118) — a 20-juan monograph on the urban culture of the Southern-Sòng capital Línān — with autograph preface dated Mid-Autumn day of jiǎxū (= Xiánchún 10 = 1274), two years before the Yuán capture of Hángzhōu in 1276. The Sìkù tíyào notes that Wáng Shìzhēn 王士禎, working from a manuscript that lacked the preface, did not know the work’s authorship; the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn citations confirm the attribution. The catalog meta erroneously gives the author’s floruit as 1670 — a transcription error for 1270s; corrected here.
