Zhōu Kè 周克 / Zhōu Kèfù 周克復

An early-Qīng lay-Buddhist scholar, identified in the colophons of his work as Zhōu Kèfù 周克復 (the 復 element of the personal name is sometimes dropped in catalog references). Lifedates not preserved with precision; he was active in the early to mid Qīng (probably late seventeenth / early eighteenth century). His major surviving work is the 《淨土晨鐘》 Jìngtǔ chénzhōng KR6p0091 (X1172, 10 juǎn) — a substantial ten-juǎn Pure Land anthology described in the colophon as a fùzuǎn 復纂 (“re-compilation”), suggesting the work draws on and revises an earlier compilation. The work is one of the principal early-Qīng lay-compiled Pure Land anthologies. Beyond this work no substantial biographical record survives.
