Mid-Míng official and anthologist. CBDB id 128888, dates 1496–1574. Zì Bócháng 伯常. Native of Kūnshān 崑山 (Sūzhōu, Jiāngsū). Jìnshì of Jiājìng gēngxū (1550) per SKQS — though CBDB has him as earlier; this would make him much older than typical at jìnshì. (CBDB dates may be of different person; SKQS reliably places him as mid-Jiā-jìng.)
The Jiāngnán tōngzhì gives his name as “周後淑” Zhōu Hòushū, which the SKQS editors identify as a transcription error.
Served as Sìchuān ànchásī fùshǐ (Vice Commissioner of Surveillance for Sìchuān) under Jiājìng. During this tenure he compiled the KR4h0109 Quán-Shǔ yìwén zhì 全蜀藝文志 (64 juǎn), the canonical Míng regional documentary anthology of Sìchuān — prefaced Jiājìng rényín (1542), 4th month. The work is methodologically significant for establishing the regional yìwén zhì genre as a parallel to the dynastic-history yìwén zhì.
