Zhōu Cóng 周淙 (d. ca. 1175), Yànguǎng 彥廣, native of Húzhōu 湖州 (modern northern Zhèjiāng). A mid-Southern-Sòng official who specialised in the administration of the LiǎngZhè 兩浙 region and twice held the prefecture of the temporary capital Lín’ān 臨安 (Hángzhōu). He served first as LiǎngZhè zhuǎnyùn fùshǐ 兩浙轉運副使 and later as Yòuwéndiàn xiūzhuàn 右文殿修撰 with prefectural office at Lín’ān; on his second appointment to that prefecture in Qiándào 5 (1169) he undertook the Qiándào Lín’ān zhì KR2k0011 in 15 juan, of which only the first three juan survive. He is remembered for his West Lake hydraulic works (liáo hú jùn qú 撩湖浚渠) during his Hángzhōu tenures. CBDB id 503 confirms his patrilineal connection to Zhōu Xú 周徐 and cross-references to Xiánchún Lín’ān zhì 50.7b and Sòng shǐ 390.11b. Other contemporary persons of the same name (CBDB 96062, fl. 1133–1135; CBDB 506493) are distinct individuals; the dating evidence in juan 3 of his gazetteer (the registry of prefects ending with himself in 1169–70) and his appearance in Sòng shǐ 390 confirm the identification.
