Táng Jī 唐積

Sòng official, fl. mid-Northern Sòng. Held the offices of tàizǐ zhōngshè 太子中舍 (junior tutor of the heir apparent) and concurrently zhī Wùyuán xiàn 知婺源縣 (magistrate of Wùyuán, in Shèzhōu 歙州 — the modern Wùyuán County, Jiāngxī). His one surviving work is the Shèzhōu yànpǔ 歙州硯譜 (KR3i0004), an authoritative monograph on the Shè-stone industry composed in Zhìpíng 3 (1066), which Chén Zhènsūn’s 陳振孫 Shūlù jiětí lists under the (slightly differing) title Shè yàn túpǔ 歙硯圖譜 with Táng explicitly named as author. The original presumably included engraved illustrations of typical Shè-stone forms; these did not survive into the Sòng-end Bǎichuān xuéhǎi 百川學海 recension printed by Zuǒ Guī 左圭. Lifedates beyond his Zhìpíng fl. are not securely recoverable.
