Táng Shùnzhī 唐順之 (1507–1560), zì Yīngdé 應德 / Yìxiū 義修, hào Jīngchuān 荊川, posthumously Wénxiāng 文襄, was a major Mid-Míng official, classicist, and military strategist. Huìshì first place in Jiājìng wùzǐ (1528). Famous for organising defence against the wō kòu 倭寇 (Japanese pirates) in the Jiājìng era. Polymath; wrote across military, classical, literary, and astronomical fields. Major works: the Wǔ biān 武編 (KR3b0016, his comprehensive military encyclopedia in 10 juan); Jīngchuān bài biān 荊川稗編 (a major biji compendium); the Liù biān 六編 (history-classical compendium).
