Mò Dí 墨翟 (c. 470 – c. 391 BCE) — conventionally Mò zǐ 墨子 — was the founder of the Mohist 墨家 philosophical school, the foremost rival of early Confucianism. Advocate of impartial care (jiān ài 兼愛), opposition to aggressive warfare (fēi gōng 非攻), meritocracy, and a form of religious consequentialism. Eponymous author of the Mò zǐ 墨子 (KR5f0010), a multi-authored collection assembled across the school’s several centuries of activity.
