Yáo Mèngyù 姚孟昱 (fl. late Wànlì), hào Jìnyězǐ 近野子 — Míng jìn shì (CBDB index year 1559) who served as Diplomatic Envoy in the Xíngrén sī 行人司, the Hàn-lín-style envoy bureau of the Míng outer court. He is known as a fellow-townsman and intellectual associate of 王一清 (Tǐwùzǐ) and contributed the dated preface (萬曆丁酉春上元 = 4 February 1597) to Wáng’s Dào dé jīng shì cí (KR5i0007), in which he describes Wáng’s enforced retirement to the Tàihé cliffs and praises the resulting commentary as restoring the lost broad-political reading of the Lǎo zǐ.
