Yáo Wénhào 姚文灝 (1455–1504), of Guìxī 貴溪 (Jiāngxī), was a Míng-era Chénghuà 20 (1484) jìnshì who rose to Gōngbù zhǔshì 工部主事 (Director of the Bureau of Works). In Hóngzhì 9 (1496) he was appointed Inspector of the Sōngjiāng and Other Hydraulic Works (Tídū Sōngjiāng děngchù shuǐlì gōngbù zhǔshì); his six-point memorial on water-management of that year was approved by the emperor and is preserved in the Míng Xiàozōng shílù. He compiled the Zhèxī shuǐlì shū (KR2k0065) in connection with this office, assembling a documentary anthology on the hydraulic system of western Zhèjiāng / southern Jiāngnán. CBDB id 129305 confirms the lifedates 1455–1504 and the Hóng-zhì-era career.
