Kǒng Zhìyuē 孔志約, fl. mid-7th century, was a Táng court physician-scholar and a member of the editorial committee for the Xīnxiū běncǎo (KR3ec004) of 659. He is best known as the author of its principal preface, a polished piece of court rhetoric that catalogues Táo Hóngjǐng’s errors and credits Sū Jìng 蘇敬 with the original petition. He may have been a collateral descendant of the Kǒng clan of Qūfù; the family connection is not securely documented, but his preface displays the polished classical register expected of Kǒng-family scholars.
