Sūn Chéngēn 孫承恩 (1481–1561; CBDB 129727 gives 1481, preferred over the catalog meta’s 1485), zì Zhēnfǔ 貞甫, hào Yìzhāi 毅齋, posthumous shì Wénjiǎn 文簡, of Huátíng 華亭 (Sōngjiāngfǔ, Jiāngsū). Zhèngdé 6 / xīnwèi (1511) jìnshì; rose to Lǐbù shàngshū jiā Tàizǐ tàibǎo. Míng shǐ main biography. Zhèngdé era, in Hànlínyuàn; Jiājìng jīngyán jiǎngguān. As zōngbó (Lǐbù shàngshū) refused to huángguān (don the yellow-cap) for the zhāigōng shèjiào (palace-fasting-altar offerings) under Shìzōng’s Daoist-rites obsession — therefore unlike Yán Sōng and others who used qīngcí (blue-prayer Daoist verse) to zìmèi (curry imperial favour). Cleanly retired. Yǔ Mǎ Wénjiǎngōng (with Mǎ Lǐ 馬理 of Guānzhōng, also a Wénjiǎn) jointly èr zōngbó (two ritual-ministers). With Xú Jiē 徐階 and Wén Zhēngmíng 文徵明 in the Sōngjiāng / Sūzhōu literary network. Lù Shùshēng 陸樹聲 wrote the preface. His writings are the Wénjiǎn jí in 58 juǎn (KR4e0173) — printed posthumously by his son Sūn Kèhóng 孫克弘 (Hànyáng zhīfǔ). CBDB id 129727, 1481–1561.
