Shǒuduān 守端
Northern-Sòng Yángqí-branch Línjì Chán master, conventionally styled Báiyún Shǒuduān 白雲守端 after his abbacy at Báiyún shān 白雲山 in Shūzhōu. Dharma-heir of 方會 Yángqí Fānghuì, having silently memorised Fānghuì’s lectures during the period in which note-taking was forbidden — the transcript he later set down became the basis of the Yángqí Fānghuì héshàng yǔlù (KR6q0056). His own principal heir was Wǔzǔ 法演 Fǎyǎn, through whom the Yángqí line came to dominate later Chán.
