Sòng Qí 宋祁 (998–1061), Zǐjīng 子京, posthumous title Jǐngwén 景文; native of Yōngqiū 雍邱 (Hénán). One of the great mid-Northern-Sòng officials, historians, and poets. Tiānshèng 2 jìnshì (1024), in the same examination as his elder brother Sòng Xiáng 宋庠; the brothers were known as the “Two Sòngs” (Èr Sòng) — Sòng Qí being “Lesser Sòng” (Xiǎo Sòng). Held senior offices including Hànlín xuéshì chéngzhǐ, Lìbù shìláng, Duānmíng diàn xuéshì, and concurrent Prefect of Yìzhōu 益州 (1056–1058). Co-compiler with Ōuyáng Xiū 歐陽修 of the Xīn Tángshū 新唐書 KR2a0009; Sòng Qí drafted the Lièzhuàn (biographies); the work was completed in 1060 just before his death. His other principal works include the Yìbù fāngwù lüèjì 益部方物略記 (KR2k0109), the Jǐngwén jí 景文集 (KR4d0021), and the famous Yùlóu chūn 玉樓春 ci-poem with the line hóngxìng zhī tóu chūnyì nào 紅杏枝頭春意鬧, which earned him the further sobriquet Hóngxìng shàngshū 紅杏尚書.
