Late-Yuán jìnshì and early-Míng Guózǐ jìjiǔ 國子祭酒 (Master of the Imperial College), native of Huáxiàn 滑縣 (Hénán). Zì Zhòngmǐn 仲敏; hào Xīyǐn 西隱 (“Western Retreat”) from his villa Báiyún máowū 白雲茅屋. Jìnshì under the Zhìzhèng 至正 reign of the Yuán; briefly served as Yánshān yǐn 鹽山尹 before resigning and returning home during the late-Yuán disorders. In the early Hóngwǔ era summoned to the capital as Guózǐ zhùjiào 國子助教; promoted to Wényuāngé dàxuéshì 文淵閣大學士; eventually appointed Guózǐ jìjiǔ (the head of the imperial university) and died in office in Hóngwǔ 23 (1390) at age 80. Famous for the strictness of his pedagogical discipline; his Tàixué bēi 太學碑 [National-University Stele], composed by imperial command, was greatly admired by Hóngwǔ. Posthumous title Wénkè 文恪 granted in the Zhèngdé period (1506–1521). His son Sòng Lín 宋麟 succeeded him as Guózǐ jìjiǔ.
