Shān Qiānzhī 山謙之, a Liu Song dynasty 劉宋 (420–479 CE) official and geographer active during the Yuánjia 元嘉 era (424–453 CE). He worked under the court scholar Hé Chéngtian 何承天 and was commissioned to assist in compiling the Sòngshū 宋書; in 454 CE he was given further commissions related to official historiography.
Shān Qiānzhī was a prolific author of regional geographic records. His works include:
- Dānyáng jì 丹陽記 (KR2k0160) — geography of the Jiànkāng capital region
- Nán Xúzhōu jì 南徐州記 — geography of the southern Xu province
- Wúxīng jì 吳興記 — geography of Wu Xing commandery
- Xúnyáng jì 尋陽記 — geography of Xunyang (Jiujiang)
These texts were all cited in Shuǐjīng zhù 水經注 and other Tang-Song encyclopedias but survive only in fragments.
