Cuī Dūnlǐ 崔敦禮 (Sòng, d. 1181)
A senior Southern-Sòng official whose tenure as Tàizǐ gōng jiàoshòu (Crown-Prince’s Palace Tutor) gives the title to his collection KR4d0238. Younger brother of Cuī Dūnshī 崔敦詩 (zì Dàyǎ 大雅), who held the Zhíyuàn (Cabinet-Drafter) office and led the post-1181 emendation of Lǚ Zǔqiān’s 呂祖謙 Sòng wénjiàn anthology. CBDB id 10210, death year 1181. Birth year and zì not preserved.
Author of the Chúyán 芻言 (a collection of administrative observations, separately listed in Zǐbù) and of the lost 20-juǎn original Cuī Dūnlǐ jí (per Jiāo Hóng’s Jīngjízhì); the surviving Gōngjiào jí in 12 juǎn KR4d0238 is the Sìkù reconstruction from the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn.
The Sìkù editors detect a possibly-misattributed memorial in his collection at juǎn 5 — the Jìn chóngshàndìng Lǚ Zǔqiān suǒ biān Wénjiàn zházǐ — which by Lǐ Xīnchuán’s Cháoyě zájì and Zhū Xī’s Yǔlèi should belong to the elder brother Dūnshī, not to Dūnlǐ; alternatively, Dūnlǐ may have drafted the memorial on his elder brother’s behalf.
Surviving in Kanripo:
- KR4d0238 Gōngjiào jí (12 juǎn, WYG; reconstructed from the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn).
- Chúyán (separately in Zǐbù).
