Bākānlèmùwǎ 巴看落目瓦 (fl. c. mid-13th – early 14th c.) — Tibetan master named in the colophon of T1198 (KR6j0424) as the transmitter (傳) of the Shèngzhě Wénshūshīlì fā pútíxīn yuànwén 聖者文殊師利發菩提心願文, the text translated into Chinese by his disciple 智慧. The colophon line reads 「巴看落目瓦傳」 — “transmitted by Bākānlèmùwǎ”.
The name is a Chinese transliteration of an unidentified Tibetan personal name; the suffix -mùwǎ is conventionally a transliteration of Tibetan -ba / -pa (the masculine-honorific suffix), suggesting an underlying Tibetan Pa-kan-lo-pa or similar. No secure identification with a known figure of the Yuán-period Sa-skya Tibetan-Buddhist hierarchy has been made. The presumed lineage-affiliation — given the Mǎtí Mountain translation milieu in which his disciple Zhìhuì worked — is Sa-skya or one of its sub-orders active in the Mongol-Yuán Hexi Corridor.
He is one of many minor Tibetan masters whose names survive only in the colophon-records of Yuán-period Chinese translations of Tibetan Esoteric materials. The systematic identification of these names with Tibetan-language documentary sources remains a desideratum.
