Mid- to late-Míng official of Zhōngmóu 中牟 (Hénán); jìnshì of Jiājìng 38 / 1559. Held a long succession of capital and provincial posts culminating in Nánjīng hùbù shàngshū 南京戶部尚書 and Tàizǐ tàibǎo 太子太保. He provided the principal celebratory preface (Hè Yúnlín Gōngjūn róngshòu Lǔfǔ ēncì yīlín zhuàngyuán xù) for 龔廷賢 Gōng Tíngxián’s KR3er085 Jìshì quánshū (1616), commemorating Gōng’s 1593 award of the Yīlín zhuàngyuán 醫林狀元 title by the Lǔfán court. The preface is the chief biographical document for Gōng’s Hé-nán-period career.
