Zhāng Jiǒng 張炯, native of Xuānchéng 宣城 (Anhuī), fl. late 18th century. He is known almost exclusively as the author of the 1799 (嘉慶四年) preface to the Sūn Xīngyǎn / Sūn Féngyì reconstruction of the Shénnóng běncǎo jīng KR3ec001, which he signs “撰於瞻園之灌術莊.” The preface defends Shénnóng as a “great Confucian of antiquity” and explicitly criticises Lǐ Shízhēn’s 李時珍 Běncǎo gāngmù (KR3ec025) for cutting up the textual tradition without philological care.
CBDB lists three homonymous 張炯 entries (ids 106556, 292388, 456453), all without lifedates, none unambiguously matchable to the Běncǎo prefator from Xuānchéng. No id assigned here pending further evidence.
