Zhāng Xiáxī 張霞谿 (míng Lián 廉, zì Tōngyuán 通源, fl. Dàoguāng era, mid-19th c.), Qīng physician and Confucian scholar of Zhūjì 諸暨 (Zhèjiāng). A gòngshì 貢士 (tribute student / metropolitan examination presentee) of his native county, bótōng jīngshǐ 博通經史 (broadly conversant in canonical and historical literature), and an jǔyè (eight-legged-essay) instructor; many of his pupils succeeded in the imperial examinations. Lǚ bùdé zhì yú míngchǎng 屢不得志於名場 (repeatedly frustrated in the examination arena), he turned in his middle years to medical writing as a yǒu guān yú shìdào rénxīn 有關於世道人心 (means of acting on the moral order and public well-being) project. His Mázhěn chǎnzhù 麻疹闡註 (KR3ej046) — an elucidatory commentary on the Yīzōng jīnjiàn measles chapter — is the principal medical work credited to him. The work was edited and published posthumously by his clan-nephew Jíyuán 輯園, his nephew Huìpō 蕙坡, his brother Zǐtíng 紫庭, and his clan-cousin Chónggāo 重皋, under the supervision of Lìzǐ Fēiān 酈子非葊.
