Gotō Sei 後藤省 (sinicized Hòuténg Shěng, fl. eighteenth century, 江戶), Japanese physician of the kohō-ha 古方派 (ancient-formula school) tradition. The Kanripo catalog assigns him to 清 dynasty (i.e. roughly contemporaneous with mid-Qīng China). Author of the Shāng fēng yuē yán 傷風約言 (KR3ef074) — a short kohō-school clinical handbook critical of the Edo yùnqì / six-conformation pedagogical tradition. Distinct from Gotō Konzan 後藤艮山 (1659–1733), the founder of the kohō movement (whose name in Kanji form is 後藤艮山 — different from 後藤省). Detailed lifedates are not preserved in standard biographical references; Gotō Sei is one of the many fl. eighteenth-century minor kohō physicians.
