Xú Zhéshēn 徐哲身 was a popular Shanghai fiction writer active during the Republican period (ca. 1910s–1930s). He specialized in historical novels (lìshǐ xiǎoshuō 歷史小說) of the entertainment-popular variety, combining adventure, romance, and historical dramatization of Qīng dynasty events. His output was substantial and he composed a brief self-biography preserved in the preface to Dàqīng Sānjié 大清三傑 (KR4k0301). His known works in the Kanripo corpus include Dàqīng Sānjié 大清三傑 (Three heroes of the Qing, KR4k0301) and Hàndài Gōngtíng Yànshǐ 漢代宮廷豔史 (Scandalous history of the Hàn imperial court, KR4k0314). Precise birth and death dates have not been established.
