Xú Běn 徐本 (1683–1747), courtesy name Lìrén 立人, hào Shìzhāi 是齋, posthumously Wénmù 文穆, was a senior early-Qiánlóng Hàn-Chinese official, native of Qiántáng 錢塘 (modern Hángzhōu, Zhèjiāng). Jìnshì of Kāngxī 57 (1718). He rose through provincial governorships to Lǐbù shàngshū 禮部尚書 (Minister of Rites) and ultimately Dōnggé dàxuéshì 東閣大學士. Together with Sān Tài 三泰, he was one of the two principal compilers of the KR2m0055 Dà Qīng lǜlì 大清律例 in the Qiánlóng 5 (1740) recension that established the canonical 47-juǎn form of the Qīng code. CBDB id 57515 (1683–1747) records the index year 1683. The CBDB contains several homonymous Xú Běn (46173, 261274, 308061), but only 57515’s life-dates and offices are consistent with the dating of this commission.
