Xú Jiǒng 徐炯 (zì Zhāngzhòng 章仲), of Kūnshān 崑山 (Jiāngsū). Kāngxī rénxū (1682) jìnshì; rose to Zhílì xúndào (Inspector of Zhílì). In Kāngxī gēngwǔ (1690) he served as jǔrén examiner in Fújiàn, where he obtained from Lín Jí 林佶 the manuscript base of Zhū Hèlíng’s incomplete prose-collation of Lǐ Shāngyǐn 李商隱; this became the seed for the Xú brothers’ complete edition. Brother of Xú Shùgǔ 徐樹穀 徐樹穀.
Xú Jiǒng’s contribution to the Lǐ Yìshān wénjí jiānzhù KR4c0076 is the zhù (commentary) component, focused on allusion-tracing and xùngǔ (etymology / classical glossing); his brother’s jiān attended to historical-event verification. Xú Jiǒng also supplemented the base text from the Wényuàn yīnghuá (especially for the missing zhuàng genre) and added the Chóngyáng tíng míng — though this last attribution was later questioned by Féng Hào on philological grounds (Yáng Shèn forgery suspected).
CBDB has no matching entry; the Xú brothers’ careers are documented in the Kūnshān fùzhì and contemporary jīnshēn records.
