Zhìhóng 志鴻 (lay name Qián Yǎn 錢儼) was a mid-to-late Tang Vinaya specialist of the Nánshān 南山 lineage. Native of Xiàruò 下若 (placeName id PL000000013087); resident at the Shuānglínsì 雙林寺 in Wú prefecture (modern Sūzhōu region). He studied the Nánshān chāo under Dàohéng 道恆 律師 of Bǎomàoyuàn 保茂苑. Posthumous title Chángshòu dàshī 長壽大師 (“Great Master of Long Life”) — a name reportedly given because he reached the age of one hundred and eight.
His chief Vinaya work is the Sìfēnlǜ sōuxuán lù 四分律搜玄錄 (KR6k0162) in twenty juan (only three juan survive), which gathers the essentials of more than forty jì and chāo commentaries by Dàcí 大慈, Língè 靈崿, and others; the fourth Huáyán patriarch Chéngguān 澄觀 (738–839) wrote a preface for the work during the Dàlì era (766–779), which fixes Zhìhóng’s mature career to the second half of the eighth century.
