Ekō 惠光 — Medieval Japanese Vinaya (Ritsu 律) monk of Tōshōdai-ji 唐招提寺, identifiable only through his sole canonical work, Táng zhāotísì jiètán bié shòujièshì 唐招提寺戒壇別受戒式 (KR6t0048, T74n2351), a single-fascicle codification of the traditional (biéshòu 別受) ordination procedure at the Tōshōdai-ji ordination platform — to be distinguished from the universal-vow ordination procedures established by Kakujō 覺盛 at the same monastery in 1236.
Not to be confused with the 5th-Dynasty Ekō (DILA A014213, d. 915) or the Edo Sōtō-Zen Ekō (DILA A038401). No DILA entry is matched to this Tōshōdai-ji Vinaya Ekō. The text survives only in a Genroku 11 (= 1698) transmission copy.
