Huìjiān 慧堅 (Japanese reading: Ekken or Esuken; fl. Edo period) was a Japanese Shingon 真言 school monk, active in the eighteenth or nineteenth century. The catalog meta gives his “dynasty” simply as 日本. His sole catalogued work is a short documentary yuánqǐ (origin-account) on the editorial history of a Shingon scholastic commentary, the Dé yī shì xùwén yuánqǐ (KR6r0050), preserved in the Manji Xuzangjing. No further biographical data is preserved.

The Dharma-name 慧堅 has been borne by other monks in East Asian Buddhist history; the present figure must not be confused with earlier or later monastics of the same name.
