慧安

Huìān 慧安

Sōngshān Huìān 嵩山慧安 (c. 582–709), also called Lǎo’ān 老安 (“Old An”). Northern-School Chán master, dharma-heir of Hóngrěn. Active on Sōngshān 嵩山 and at the Táng court. Teacher of the lay practitioner Huìguāng (Dàzhào jūshì 大照居士) and a notable second-generation figure in the East-Mountain (Dōngshān) tradition.
