Huìbǎo 慧寶, early-Sòng Buddhist scholar-monk; lifedates not transmitted; floruit early 11th c. He compiled an extensive annotated edition (注 zhù) of 神清 Shénqīng’s late-Tang scholarly compendium 《北山錄》 Běishān lù (KR6r0146, T2113, 10 juan), preserving much late-Tang and early-Sòng documentary material that would otherwise be lost. The annotated text became a standard Sòng Buddhist scholarly reference, anchoring the Sòng Tiāntái establishment’s claim of continuity with the late-Tang scholarly tradition. Per DILA Buddhist Person Authority A001742.
(DILA records multiple Huìbǎo entries; the Bēishān lù commentator is the A001742 entry.)
