Huì-jué 慧覺 (lifedates unknown; fl. mid-fifth century), Northern-Wèi 元魏 Hàn-Chinese Buddhist śramaṇa of Liáng-zhōu 涼州 origin (modern Gānsù), based at Gāochāng 高昌 (modern Turpan). According to the Chū sānzàng jì jí 出三藏記集 (T2145, juan 9 and 13), Huì-jué led a translation circle at Gāochāng during Wén-chéng-dì 文成帝’s Tài’ān 太安 era (455–459) which produced the celebrated [[KR6b0059|Xián-yú jīng 賢愚經 (T202)]] — the Damamūko-nidāna-sūtra / “Sūtra of the Wise and the Foolish” — assembled from oral avadāna-narratives heard at the Khotanese five-year-festival pañcavārṣika in 445. The work is one of the most widely-received Chinese Buddhist avadāna-anthologies.
