Qìngyù 慶預
Northern-Sòng / Southern-Sòng Cáodòng 曹洞 Chán master, imperial title Huìzhào chánshī 慧照禪師 (also 慧炤). Dàjiàn-下第 14 世 dharma-heir of 子淳 Dānxiá Zǐchún (1066–1119). 1078 – Shàoxīng 10 / 1140, shìshòu 63. Native of Jīngshān 京山 (Yǐngzhōu, in Jīnghúběi), lay surname Hú 胡.
Tonsured at twenty-four under 道楷 Fúróng Dàokǎi; took the full precepts; subsequently went to Zǐchún and received dharma-transmission. Abbacy sequence: Suízhōu Dàhóngshān Língfēngsì 大洪山靈峰寺 (succeeding his master at the Dàhóng seat after Zǐchún’s death in 1119); Shuǐnán Xīngguósì 水南興國寺; Xuěfēng Chóngshòusì 雪峰崇壽寺 (the “Xuěfēng Huìzhào” 雪峰慧照 style derives from this seat).
