Zhī Dùn 支遁 (Zhī Dàolín 支道林)

Eastern Jìn 東晉 Buddhist monk, qīngtán 清談 philosopher, and one of the central interpreters of prajñāpāramitā in Chinese in the mid-fourth century. Lifedates 314–366 CE. Personally associated with the xuánxué literati circle of Wáng Xīzhī 王羲之, Xǔ Xún 許詢, and Sūn Chuò 孫綽. Author of an influential commentary on the Xiāoyáo yóu 逍遙遊 chapter of the Zhuāngzǐ 莊子 and of the early Chinese formulation of the jíse zōng 即色宗 (“Identity-with-Form”) school of Mahāyāna philosophy.
