Yì Fèngzhù 易鳳翥 ( Dānshān 丹山; hào Wúxuān 梧軒, 1769–1844, 清), Qīng literatus-physician of Chángshā Zhìshān 長沙峙山 (Húnán). Born to a Hàn-lín-academician grandfather in Qiánlóng jǐchǒu (1769), completed the Five Classics by age 9 and the Thirteen Classics by 16; repeatedly recommended in the provincial examinations but never obtained jìnshì. Declined the patronage of the zǒngdū Zhào Dílóu 趙笛樓 and turned to medicine in his fifties. Author of KR3ek026 Wàikē bèiyào 外科備要 (4 juǎn) — a provincial-Húnán wàikē handbook compiled over more than thirty years and built on the imperial KR3ek009 Yīzōng jīnjiàn · Wàikē xīnfǎ yàojué; substantially complete in his lifetime but published only after his death. At age 70 (1838) he burned most of his other medical manuscripts, instructing his descendants not to publish his collected works; the Wàikē bèiyào survived through his nephew Yì Rùntán 易潤壇, who used the manuscript during military service in Jiāngxī during the Tàipíng wars and arranged its eventual publication. Died Dàoguāng 24, second month, twenty-fifth day (1844), aged 76 suì.
