Zhìdù 智度 (Táng / Tiāntái)

A different Zhìdù: Táng-dynasty Tiāntái master, shénzú 神足 (foot-disciple) of Jīngxī Zhànrán 荊溪湛然 (湛然, 711–782). DILA Authority A001265. Lifedates unrecorded; productive period c. 770s–early 800s. Although noted in the Shìmén zhèngtǒng 釋門正統 and the Fózǔ tǒngjì 佛祖統紀 as a major Tiāntái figure, no biographical narrative survives. His sole surviving work is the Fǎhuá jīng shū yìzuǎn 法華經疏義纘 (KR6d0017, X29n0594, 6 juan) — a Táng-period subcommentary on Zhìyǐ’s Wénjù in the immediate succession to Zhànrán.
