Cáo Róng 曹溶

Qiūyuè 秋岳, hào Juànpǔ 倦圃. Late-Míng / early-Qīng official and bibliophile, native of Xiùshuǐ 秀水 (modern Jiāxīng 嘉興, Zhèjiāng). Jìnshì of 1637 (Chóngzhēn 崇禎 10). Held office under both the late Míng and the Qīng — censor in the Míng, Grand Coordinator (xúnfǔ 巡撫) of Guǎngdōng under the Qīng — before withdrawing from public life. Best known as a great private collector and bibliographer; Jìngǔtáng shū mù 靜古堂書目 records part of his library. Friend and patron of many late-Míng / early-Qīng yímín 遺民 scholars including 朱彝尊 Zhū Yízūn.
