Zhū Xīyán 朱晞顏 (Yuán), Jǐngyuān 景淵. There are two Yuán-period 朱晞顏, both of whom must be carefully distinguished: (1) The 朱晞顏 of Jīngbèiyín jí KR4d0525 — author of the 鯨背吟 maritime-travel poems — who was at one time identified with 宋無 (Sòng Wú 宋無) of Cuìhán jí KR4d0498 on the basis of Zhào Mèngfǔ’s preface (“旧以晞顏字行” — “in early life he used Xīyán as his ”), but whose case is left as yí yǐ chuán yí by the Sìkù tíyào. (2) The 朱晞顏 of Piáoquán yíngǎo KR4d0518 — a man of Chángxīng 長興 (Húzhōu, Zhèjiāng), Jǐngyuān 景淵 — clearly a different person, attested in Wú Chéng’s 吳澄 mùbiǎo for his father Wénjìn 文進. Career: initially Píngyángzhōu Měnggǔyuàn (because trained in the guóshū); then Chánglín chéng sī zhǔ yánfù; later Jiāngxī Ruìzhōu jiānshuì — terminated as a low-level jùnyì bēilì. The Chángxīng 朱晞顏 of KR4d0518 is the principal subject of this page. The catalog meta for both work-IDs gives lifedates 1221–1279, which the Sìkù tíyào does not confirm (the tíyào leaves dates blank); 1221–1279 are not Yuán-era dates for either person and seem to be a catalog error. Standard Yuán-poetry reference (Yáng Lián, Yuánshī shǐ) treats both as flourishing in mid-Yuán.
