Zhū Gāo 朱橰, zì Féngnián 逢年. Younger brother of Zhū Sōng 朱松 朱松 and uncle of Zhū Xī 朱熹. Native of Wùyuán 婺源 (modern Jiāngxī). Lifedates not preserved in CBDB; standard biographical sources do not give a year of birth or death. Active in the early Southern Sòng period, contemporary with his elder brother (Zhū Sōng, 1097–1143).
Author of the Yùlán jí 玉瀾集 in 1 juǎn — recorded as a separately-circulating work in Chén Zhènsūn 陳振孫’s Zhízhāi shūlù jiětí KR3h0011. The collection was nearly lost; in Hóngzhì bǐngchén (1496) Kuàng Fán 鄺璠 of Rènqiū 任邱 obtained a copy from Chén Xìngzhī 陳性之 of Suīyáng 睢陽 and appended it to the Wéizhāi jí KR4d0171 reprint of his elder brother. Yóu Máo 尤袤 wrote a colophon for the Yùlán jí, especially praising the Chūn fēng (Spring Wind) piece and the three Jí shì (On the Affair) pieces. The Sìkù editors are sceptical of Yóu Máo’s praise — judging Zhū Gāo’s verse not equal to his elder brother’s, and that the appended placement is a courtesy rather than equal merit.
