Southern-Táng court philologist; held the offices cháosǎn dàfū 朝散大夫 and Mìshūshěng jiàoshū láng 祕書省校書郎. He provided the fǎnqiè phonetic gloss layer for Xú Kǎi’s 徐鍇 Shuōwén xìzhuàn KR1j0019, an independent Southern-Táng phonological dataset distinct from Sūn Miǎn’s Tángyùn (used by Xú Xuàn 徐鉉 in the DàXúběn). Zhū’s readings consistently use the older fǎn 反 notation (rather than the post-Kāichéng qiè 切) and reflect Jiāngnán phonological practice of the mid-tenth century. CBDB carries one entry (#182208) with death-year 953, but this is uncertain; no further biographical detail can be recovered from the standard sources.
