Southern-Sòng Daoist-scholar commentator, hào Xízhāi xiānshēng 息齋先生; obtained the jìnshì 進士 degree in the Qiándào 乾道 2 year (1166) under Xiàozōng 孝宗. His CBDB notice (c_personid 22635) remarks that the degree is not listed in the Sìchuān tōngzhì 四川通志, though Zhāng Shànyuān’s 張善淵 preface to Lǐ’s own commentary (DZ 3) explicitly locates the commentary’s first printing in Western Shǔ 西蜀 (Sichuan), so some Sichuan connection — whether by native place, appointment, or retirement — is secure. No office or teacher is recorded. He composed the paragraph-by-paragraph commentary Yuánshǐ shuō xiāntiān dàodé jīng zhùjiě 元始說先天道德經註解 (DZ 3), printed in Shǔ in the late twelfth century; the Shǔ blocks were lost in the thirteenth century and the commentary survived only via a single manuscript recovered by Xiè Túnán 謝圖南 in the Bǎoyòu 寳祐 era (1253–1258) and re-engraved, eventually, by Zhāng Shànyuān fl. 1280–1294. No other works by Lǐ Jiāmóu survive in the Kanripo corpus. A homonymous 李嘉謀 (CBDB id 618812) without dates exists but cannot be identified with the commentator of DZ 3.
