Lǐ Bì 李壁 (1159–1222), zì Jìzhāng 季章, hào Yànhú jūshì 雁湖居士, posthumous Wényì 文懿. Of Méishān (Sìchuān) — third son of the great Southern-Sòng historian Lǐ Tāo 李燾 李燾 (compiler of Xù Zīzhì tōngjiàn chángbiān KR2b0028); his elder brothers were Lǐ Hòu 李垕 and Lǐ Shú 李塾 (the tǔ-radical naming pattern fixes the character — Sòngshǐ sometimes prints Bì as 璧 with the yù radical, but the brothers’ naming pattern is conclusive). First entered office through paternal yīn; later took the jìnshì. Under Níngzōng rose through Lǐbù shàngshū, Cānzhīzhèngshì, and Tóngzhī shūmìyuànshì. Under Hán Tuōzhòu 韓侂胄’s 1206 northern-recovery campaign Lǐ acted as the fùshǐ envoy to the front (after Zhāng Sìgǔ 張嗣古’s first envoying ran counter to Hán’s purpose); his concord with Hán led to his promotion. Yè Shàowēng 葉紹翁’s Sìcháo wénjiàn lù records this — the Sìkù editors note that Lǐ’s collaboration with Hán’s failed northern campaign cost the family reputation. Demoted to Línchuān upon Hán’s 1207 fall and the disastrous campaign’s reckoning; in Línchuān exile composed the Wáng Jīnggōng shīzhù 王荊公詩注 KR4d0074 in 50 juǎn — assisted by Zēng Jí 曾極 (zì Jǐngjiàn 景建); preface by Wèi Liǎowēng 魏了翁 (魏了翁) (the Hèshān / Hèxiān).
