Dù Zhēn 杜臻 (1633–1703), zì Zhàoyú 肇余, hào Shènzhāi 慎齋, posthumous title Duānquè 端慤, of Xiùshuǐ 秀水 (Jiāxīng 嘉興 prefecture, Zhèjiāng). One of the major Hàn-Chinese officials of the Kāngxī court. He passed the jìnshì in Shùnzhì 15 (1658) and rose through office to be Shàngshū (Minister) of the Boards of Public Works (Gōngbù), Justice (Xíngbù), and Personnel (Lìbù) in succession, becoming a member of the Grand Council and an associate of Lǐ Guāngdì 李光地 in the Cheng-Zhū revival circle. In Kāngxī 22 (1683), shortly after Shī Láng’s reduction of Taiwan, he was sent (with Nèigé xuéshì Shí Zhù 石柱) on the imperial-commission inspection of Guǎngdōng and Fújiàn coast that produced the YuèMǐn xúnshì jìlüè (KR2g0059, 1684–c. 1690), the principal Chinese-language record of the post-Hǎijìn southeast frontier.
