Late-Yuán / early-Míng provincial official, native of Lóngxī 龍溪 (Zhāngzhōu 漳州, Fújiàn). Zì Yuánkǎi 元凱; hào Méixuān 梅軒. Yuán jìnshì of Zhìzhèng 8 (1348); served as instructor at the Yìwū 義烏 county school under the late Yuán. In Hóngwǔ 2 (1369) selected as junior member of the embassy of Zhāng Yǐníng 張以寧 to Annan 安南 (Đại Việt under the Trần 陳 dynasty) to recognize King Trần Dụ-tông’s successor; his Shǐ Jiāozhǐ shī 使交阯詩 sequence in KR4e0015 is one of the principal records of the mission. Subsequently appointed Dēngzhōu zhīzhōu 登州知州 (Prefect of Dēngzhōu, Shāndōng), in which post he died, c. 1382. Standard biography: Fújiàn tōngzhì j. 178; brief notice in Míng shǐ yìwén zhì.
