Guǒnéng 果能
A late-Qīng Pure Land monk (also styled dàorén 道人, suggesting either monastic or lay-recluse status) active at Xīxī 西溪 in GǔHáng 古杭 (Hangzhou), specifically at the locality of Yùchí 玉池 (“Jade Pond”). His full self-designation is GǔHáng Xīxī Yùchí dàorén 古杭西溪玉池道人. He is the author of the 《時時好念佛》 Shíshí hǎo niànfó KR6p0119 (X1200), a short Pure Land devotional tract dated by his own preface to the 7th month of Guāngxù 3 (= August 1877). The tract consists of accessible verse-pieces (shíèr ge yuè niànfó jì 十二個月念佛偈, shíèr shí zhōng niànfó jì 十二時中念佛偈, etc.) and pictorial bǎotǎ tú 寶塔圖 stūpa-diagrams designed for elementary lay-Buddhist readers.
