Mid-Qīng official, zì Yǎngzhòng 養仲, hào Xiānglín 薌林, of Qiántáng 錢塘 (Hangzhou). jìnshì Yōngzhèng 8 (1730), 探花 (third place); rose through the Hànlín to Dōnggé Dàxuéshì and Bīngbù shàngshū under Qiánlóng. Posthumous title 文莊. CBDB cbdbId 58587, lifedates 1697–1763. Distinguished calligrapher (his small-kǎi style was a Qián-lóng-court favourite). The principal-named compiler of the imperial Qīndìng xiéyùn huìjí KR1j0076 (1750), Qiánlóng’s compendium of cross-rhyme attestation. Also served as supervisor on multiple other Qián-lóng-era imperial scholarly projects.
