Yáng Jìzhōu 楊繼洲 (zì Jìshí 濟時, 1522–1620, 明), late-Míng imperial physician of Sānqú 三衢 (modern Qúzhōu 衢州, Zhèjiāng). Heir to a hereditary medical family — his grandfather Yáng Yì 楊益 was an imperial physician at the Tàiyīyuàn 太醫院 under the Jiājìng emperor — Yáng Jìzhōu served as a Tàiyīyuàn imperial physician under the Wànlì emperor and was active in clinical practice for over forty years. His monumental ten-juan Zhēnjiǔ dàchéng 針灸大成 (KR3ee027, 1601) is the single most influential acupuncture work in the East Asian medical tradition. Yáng built the Dàchéng on the foundation of his family’s hereditary Wèishēng zhēnjiǔ xuánjī mìyào 衛生針灸玄機秘要, incorporating virtually the entire pre-existing SòngYuánMíng acupuncture corpus with his own editorial commentary and clinical case-records.
