Guī Chúzǐ 歸鋤子 (“Returning Hoe Master”; fl. 1819) is the pseudonym of the author of Hónglóumèng Bǔ 紅樓夢補, a 48-chapter sequel to Hónglóu Mèng 紅樓夢. The preface of the work is dated three days before the Double Ninth Festival of Jiājìng jǐmǎo (1819). The pseudonym evokes the yǐnshì 隱士 (recluse) tradition of Táo Qián 陶潛. The author’s real name, native place, and official career are unknown; no CBDB entry has been located.
