Late-Yuán official and anthologist. Zì Shūzhì 叔志; native of Wùyuán 婺源 (Huīzhōu). Jìnshì of Yányòu wùwǔ (1318). Served successively as joint-administrator of Yuèzhōu Circuit; tuīguān of the Nánān and Xìnzhōu zǒngguǎnfǔ; tuīguān of Píngjiāng Circuit; prefect of Yǎnzhōu in Jǐníng Circuit; guózǐ sīyè (Vice-Director of the National University) from Zhìzhèng 3 (1343), in which capacity he participated in the compilation of the Three Histories (Sòngshǐ 宋史, Liáoshǐ 遼史, Jīnshǐ 金史) under Tuōtuō 脫脫. On completion of the histories, promoted to jíxián zhíxuéshì (Hanlin-allied Academician); retired with the rank of lǐbù shàngshū and settled in Xuānchéng 宣城, where he self-styled Kānlǎo zhēnyì 堪老真逸 (“Old-Endurer of the True Recluse”). In Zhìzhèng 15 (1355) the rebel Chángqiāng (Long-Spear) Hóngjīn forces sacked Níngguó; Wāng was captured, refused submission, cursed his captors, and was killed at age 83. Posthumously enfeoffed Duke of Qiáo Commandery 譙國郡公, canonized Wénjié 文節. Co-compiled in retirement the KR4h0080 Wǎnlíng qúnyīng jí 宛陵羣英集 (1341), the principal Xuānchéng-region poetry anthology of the SòngYuán period.
