Wāng Fú 汪紱 (1692–1759), alternative name Wāng Xuān 汪烜, Cànrén 燦人, hào Shuāngchí 雙池, native of Wùyuán 婺源 (Huīzhōu 徽州, modern Ānhuī) — the same county as the senior Wǎnpài evidentialist Jiāng Yǒng 江永 (1681–1762) and Dài Zhèn 戴震 (1724–1777). Wāng Fú came from a poor scholarly family and never held office; he supported himself by tutoring and by the Hànxué evidential-method scholarship for which he is principally remembered. A staunch defender of the Wáng Sù 王肅 commentarial tradition against the dominant Zhèng Xuán school, his works on the Sānlǐ — including the Cāndú lǐ zhìyí 參讀禮志疑 KR1d0083 in 2 juan — were composed in his middle and later life. Other works include the Yìjīng quánjì 易經詮義 and the Lǐjì zhāngjù 禮記章句. CBDB id 79191 (1692–1759). Qīng shǐ gǎo j. 481.
