法朗

Fǎlǎng (507–581)

Chén-dynasty Sānlùn 三論 master, known as Xīnghuáng Fǎlǎng 興皇法朗 from his residence at the Xīnghuáng monastery 興皇寺 in Jiànkāng under imperial patronage. A direct disciple of 僧詮 Sēngquán of Shèshān 攝山, he transmitted the Madhyamaka exegetical tradition descended from 鳩摩羅什 Kumārajīva via 僧肇 Sēngzhào, and was the master of 吉藏 Jízàng, the systematizer of the Sānlùn school. Lived 507–581 CE.
